IMPORTANT REMINDER. . .Recently, local unions received the Convention Call to this year’s International
Convention. Even if your local does not plan to send any delegates to San Francisco, please do not throw the
Convention Call packet away! The Call contains special information and forms that explain how your local’s
votes can be represented at the Convention. Presidents and Secretaries received special contact information
in this week’s mailing to help them find other locals to carry their votes at Convention. Also, if you are a leader
of a chapter or unit, you did not receive a Convention Call. Please contact your parent local if you plan to send
delegates to San Francisco. This year, let’s make sure that every Council 40 member’s vote is counted!

EAU CLAIRE. . .Custodial and maintenance employees represented by Local 560 have recently come to
terms with the School District here for a three-year contract. The contract runs from July 1, 2007 through
June 30, 2010. All employees will see their wage rates increase by 2.5% on July 1 of each contract year.
Caps on the Employer contribution for health insurance premiums will be increased by 5% in the last two
years of the Agreement.

MERRILL. . .Local 332 and the City of Merrill have recently come to an agreement for a three-year contract for
the period January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2010. The contract, which covers Department of Public
Works employees, increases wage rates by 2% on 1/1/08; 1% on 7/1/08; 2.75% on 1/1/09; and 2.5% on
1/1/10. Health insurance premium sharing contributions remain the same as in the previous Agreement,
although the contract does provide for plan design changes. Each employee will receive $750 toward
preventative care. The parties also negotiated CDL protections and improvements relating to on-call and
uniforms.

DODGE COUNTY. . .Sworn employees working for the sheriff’s department here have reached a settlement
for a 2008-2010 collective bargaining Agreement. Local 1323-B won wage increases of 2.5% on January 1,
2008; .5% on July 1, 2008; 3% on January 1, 2009; 2.5% on January 1, 2010; and .5% on July 1, 2010. They
also preserved the County contribution of 105% of the lowest cost option in the State insurance plan.

KENOSHA COUNTY. . .County highway workers, represented by Local 70, have reached the terms of a
three-year contract for the period January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2010. The settlement features
wage increases of 2.5% on January 1, 2008; 2% on January 1, 2009; 1% on July 1, 2009; and a 2.5%
increase effective January 1, 2010. 100% payment of health insurance premiums were maintained as well
as retaining retirees in the pool of active employees. Other improvements were negotiated in the dental
insurance plan and post employment benefits.
